Stálsmiðjan-Framtak

Stálsmiðjan Framtak ehf (ltd) is an established company in Iceland with its history (through Stálsmiðjan) extending back to 1933. The activities include ship building, ship repairs, slipway operation and building of power plants. More recently and through mergers and acquisition (including Framtak), the company has extensive experience in the building of hydro- and geothermal power plants, servicing of fishing vessels, shipping companies and heavy industry.


The company has been involved in most major hydrogen projects in Iceland, including the building of hydrogen refueling stations, electrolyser plant, ship conversion, service and maintenance of refueling stations and equipment.


Stálsmiðjan Framtak is a leading service provider to many ship operators in Iceland, both within the fishing industry as well as cargo freight shipping. The company wants to develop their business into clean energy technologies and related services.
